I am a fan of Jeff Burton; which has led to me being a diehard fan of Richard Childress Racing. So I am interested by the notion that Jr. may become part of the RCR team. I am not as big a fan of Jr. as most people, but I admit that I like the idea of him driving for the same team his father did.
If Jr. does join RCR: will he drive a fourth car? will he take over another driver's ride? will he bring his own sponsor Budweiser over to RCR? will he keep the #8? will he drive the black #3?

He'll probably end up at RCR eventually. When, however, depends on the relationship he has with his step mom, Teresa.

As far as his sponsor, Bud will definitely go with him, wherever he decides to go. He is their biggest money maker, and there's no way they ever leave Jr.

Harvick will keep the Goodwrench sponsor, because, like I said, Bud will stay with Jr. They'll pay him whatever it takes to have their name on his car.

Childress said, the only way he'd put the 3 back out there is if there is an Earnhardt behind the wheel, and I seriously doubt he meant Kerry.

So, look for a #3 Bud car. The color scheme probably won't be all black, just because that was big Dale's legacy, and Jr has already said, "I'm not my father". He really want to cut his own path in NASCAR.

As far as him bringing the #8 with him, I am fairly certain DEI owns that.

Well the talk around our race shop and from buddies (so pretty much talk amongst the race teams) is to watch out for the Black #3 Bud car owned by RCR and driven by Jr. As for a 4th car for RCR it is way to early to tell what will happen in 08. I personally think that if this change does happen than it will be the best for Jr.

He should stay with the family. I still think RCR would just want Jr so that Childress can make money off him just like he did his father. Richard Childress have shown me he has no loyal feeling towards the Earnhardt family by letting his driver make such awful comments about Teresa-you know-his "best" friends widow. Who does that? So Childress would just use Jr. as a money cow.

If Dale Jr does leave DEI I hope that he doesn't go to RCR to drive his father's car. If he does go to RCR I hope he drives the #8. If Jr drives the #3 that will be more pressure added to him and he has enough pressure as it is already. I doubt that Budweiser would leave Dale Jr's side.

I'd rather see him at Joe Gibbs Racing than at DEI or RCR. But that's just me.

It does look like he MIGHT drive for RCR if not he might co-own a team with his sister Kelly but Childress said he does have an open invitation to drive.because he will have sponsors lining up to sponsor him

He will drive the Mr. Goodwrench #3 black car. He is going to leave DEI and drive for Childress. I think this is a bad move because he will upset a lot of orignal #3 fans. He drives like a little *****.

The rumor mill is flying on this one. The latest I heard was Dale going to Childress Racing and driving the 3 Budweiser/Goodwrench car. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

i didn't know they were going to go back to the no. 3 car. but one thing richard childress has to watch is the limit that the organizations are going to have to deal with in 09 with how many teams they have. the only mistake sr did was make theresa sole owner of dei if (and it did) but people don't think of these things before time. i'm not sure where jr will race though.

Sorry to tell you this Dave, but Harvick is no longer flying the goodwrench flag. His new sponsor is shell and it actually looks good. I truly believe that JR. would have a way better shot driving for Richard Childress like his Dad.What's the shame in him leaving D.E.I. if his stepmother refuses to allow him a partnership as his father must have surely intended for him one day.

What really would b awesome is if Harvick and Jr traded contracts and cars. If Harvick drove the #8 GM Goodwrench/Shell car and Jr drove a black #3 Budweiser car.
