Ok from the title of my question how many of you are sure in your mind that a Virgin is capable of having any child boy or girl so that leads me to the following , are we intelligent human beings or are we just sheep that believe the utmost impossible , drilled in to us from years of brainwashing , so was mary a virgin or just the Bethlehem bike, that no one could possibly comprehend at that time , now before answering ask your self this , am i a brainwashed sheep ready to believe the impossible or an intelligent human being with a rational mind of their own ???????

I have read all the replies to this and so far we have a guy saying its conditioning of the mind not brainwashing , well i thought that was the same really but there you go, then we have the guy from the healing world who has witnessed profoundly blind people regain 20/20 vision haha, ok if the saying had been the virgin Joseph had a baby boy would you still be of the same mind , probably yes because you seem to believe whatever you are told, if i said i saw a guy pull dollar bills out his *** would that be deemed as a gift from god , i think not , and im sure you so called rational human beings still believe in the tooth fairy and santa clause also

The date of the alleged myth was about 2000 years ago. There were no gynecologists, so who was going to check?

If there were a "god" (there isn't), it was rape.

If there was a "mary" (which there wasn't) and no "god", then she was sleeping around, but not with her husband.

So the "son of god" was probably a bastard child of a loose woman, *if* there was a "jeebus"...which there wasn't.

I think you are going to find this theory very interesting. I am sure you have heard Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." This is the same verse quoted in the new testament Christmas story. The hebrew word for virgin is ha'almah and the greek word for virgin is parthenos. The old testament is written in hebrew and the new testament is written in greek originally. Ha'almah is a distinct word for virgin that has no other meanings. In the original hebrew text the word used in the Isaiah scripture is neanis which means a young woman, girl or maiden. When this was translated into greek as virgin because there is no greek word for young maiden of age eligable to marry. So, evidence suggests that the LXX (not the original Septuagint, but the text our modern translations stem from) is a church rendered Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible. This means that perhaps the translators purposely used the word virgin, which suggests that perhaps the divinity of Jesus is questionable. Is he Devine because of the Virginity of mary? The virgin birth was the idea of post-christian doctrine which should not be overlooked considering our KJV Bible is the LXX in translation. If the original text of Is. 7:14 literally meant virgin, the original hebrew would have used the word ha'almah instead of the word neanis. Perhaps the idea of the virgin birth is just a mistaken translation.

Isaiah prophecied that a sign would be (Messiah) that a virgin will have a Son. And the Son would be named Emanuel (God with us).

Genesis said that the seed of the Woman would defeat the serpent and overcome death for us. The seed of the Woman, not the mans seed.

After she had baby Jesus, she wasn't a virgin anymore. Until she died & went to heaven.

It's not possible. Anyone who still believes that is living in the past. Intelligence and logic would denote that in order to have a baby, a woman must either be artificially inseminated (losing virginity to a tube?) or naturally inseminated (losign virginity through male/ femal contact)

How would a virgin birth have happened unless "Mary" was a lizard? Or she could have been one of the elite evolved reptiles, which I highly doubt.

Never heard of artificial insemination? So it is possible with today's science.

But think about a super powerful alien inseminating a 14 year old girl from a semi prehistoric culture.
Now that is more than sheepish acceptance , that is downright perversion.

Which leads me onto the eroticism in subjugation of woman theme running heavily throughout the Bible.
Have you noticed it?

Great. thoughtful answer from Lolly. Hope you choose him as best answer.

Obviously your question was meant to cause some ire from the christians, and it worked. We do have intelligent people here on earth, some who have finally understood the reality of the universe and the evil of organized religions.

Certainly most people with religious beliefs are as you say, brainwashed, and were taught this while young. It is drilled into them as they grow, and so it is quite hard to caste off these false belliefs. Maybe in a couple hundred years religions will finally die off as archiac practices left over from our tribal heritages.

can you explain how i was a tubular pregnancy, got salmanila when i was 1yr old, had chicken pox at 2, had a gun pointed at my head, and still lived through all that.

or what about my mom getting raped and not getting a disease or anything else.

or what about a woman dying in thhe back of a church and 3 minutes later opening her eyes.

or what about people being healed from cancer, deafness, being legally blind then seeing clearly with 20/20 vision

what about people throwing down their wheel chairs and RUNNING out of church.

Dont tell me im lying because ive seen these things and i know it didnt all happen by chance.

Our universe has laws, and everything within it has to follow them. But if there was a god outside the universe, then I imagine he wouldn't be bound by these laws, since he probably knows more about them than we do.

Mary was a virgin, and she did have a baby (as a virgin). The only way this was possible was through the Holy Spirit working in her.

Sure ........ Whatever .... and are you a self-appointed proclaimer of dogma from YOUR religion ? Since the education system does not indoctrinate with religious teachings in the schools ... where does "drilled into to us from years of brain washing" - fit in ? Sheep can not be "brain washed", as they are animals subjugated to "conditioning" not indoctrination, as they can not be taught in schools. Your premise for the promotion of your question can be addressed by mere "simpletons" - don't you think so ?

God made our bodies so complex, if you study the make up of our bodies, how can you not believe he could do this. He created the whole universe, would this be a problem for him.
