We no longer need meat in our diet yet the average person consumes over 80 animal carcass' a year. Meat is bad for our health, the environment and the animals. Foods like hamburgers and hot dogs are bad for us and yet we consume them at a record pace. They are eaten only for entertainment. It takes lots of oil, water and 15 lbs of grain to make 1 lb of meat. It takes a lot of plant life just to produce a little bit of meat. Are our forks the worst weapons of mass destruction ever known? Can we really treat other beings badly because we think they are sub human? In history we treated the Jews, women and slaves badly because we thought of them as sub human but now we know better. Will we know better someday as to how we treat innocent animals?

Meat is bad for our health?
Not sure where you are getting your info from but it is obviously some vegan website. I would agree that many people eat to high of a proportion of meat in their diets and therefore eat a to high level of animal fat in their diet. But that is far from stating that meat is no longer needed as the best source of protein in our diets. A well balanced diet is the best way for all of us to go. Even a totally veggie diet most dietitians would say is unhealthy. While I am all for humane treatment of animals, your attempt to somehow place human characteristics to animals by comparing them to Jews and slaves is ridiculous.

(Usually) the terrorist doesn't eat his victim. (Usually) the animal killer doesn't kill to cause fear.

I like animals. I respect animals. I hate it when animals are tortured or needlessly killed.

I like onions on my hamburgers.

Many cattle have lived pretty good lives so that we may eat them. Many cattle would never have lived if it were not for the appetites of humans.

I thank God for my food.

Are predators like lions and bears (they eat salmon fresh from the stream) and tigers and thousands of other animals terrorists? They begin eating even before the prey animal is unconscious. Prey animals are wild-eyed with terror if they are being chased by them. Understandably so. They are about to be eaten alive.

Maybe we should euthanize all predatory species?
