Simple, just walk up to him and say hi. Compliment his outfit or something and walk away. If he is interested he will tell you to wait and start up a real conversation, if he isn't he will say thanks and leave it at that. It's worth a shot! Good luck!

What I do . . . At some point that seems appropriate while sharing in regular conversation with him express . . . I have something I want to share and tell you. . . he'll ask what . . . you reply, with a smile. . . I have an interest in you. OR. I have an interest to know more about you. OR I like what your about. OR. I enjoy sharing company with you, you're nice to be with.
That way he clearly knows your interest without you sharing alot of gushy revealing words and still maintaining your dignity as a lady.
Wait for his response and let the conversation flow naturally from there.

Well I applaud you for taking that step, cause you'll never know unless you try. This has happened to me with a person I new for years, and it did not change our friendship at all, actually made it better. She started asking about what I looked for in a girlfriend and then wanted to know what I thought about her. Then she let me know that she had feelings for me. Sadly I was not at that place, but after that we were more relaxed around each other. Don't know if that helps.

start by saying something like "what's going on" ask him how things are with school, work, family. Tell him those things about yourself as well. It's okay to be vulnerable and shy at first, It's expected. Get into talking about hobbies, it's a subject you can really talk on. good luck

Be straight about it. Go up to him, and say something along the lines of "You know, , I really like you. Would you like to go out with me some time?"
I know that's easier said than done, but in hindsight, I wish I'd had the guts to do this more often when I was younger.

Depending on his character it would vary. If he is a straight forward person just go up to him and say "Wanna Talk?" If not when the moment is right you'll know what to do!! GOOD LUCK!!

If you're old enough. Give him your Phone Number. That shows him to call you. Big Hint there. You let him take over. Guys like to think they're in control. (But we all know better).

What is he doing at the time. What clothes is he wearing, what books does he hold? Talk about the things you know or like that he has.
Good luck
