Probably not the healthiest thing for you, since the meat in your average doggie treat comes from animals that have been declared unfit for human consumption. It probably won't hurt you, since the meat has been very much processed, but still...
I purchase doggie treats that are made with human grade meat, with no by products in it. If you wanted to eat those, then I doubt there's anything in there that could hurt you.

Yes, people can eat doggie treats, but they don't taste all that good and they are hard on your teeth. Dog treats are made with ingredients to usually remove tarter, so they are very hard and not much like cookies or biscuits at all.

That depends on the doggie treat and the person.

They're sort of like being given hard tack (a very hard phudo-bread/cracker from the Civil War days) to some dogs. And those dogs don't like them. It's only personal taste. Seeing as she just came around to eating canned rather than kibble, I'm not surprised in the least.

I would recommend getting doggy treats that are made with all human grade ingredients, and then you an your dog can enjoy the treats together! lol
Canidae, Wellness, Innova, all make dog treats that would be just fine for human consumption..

Yes, you can eat dog food/treats.
The wholesomeness regulations for pet food ARE the same for people food.
The problem with pet food is it taste REALLY bland to human tongues.
The milkbones are a bit gritty, too.
I would not, however, recommend eating the food provided for zoo canines. They require a special diet that includes animal hairs mixed with their "kibble."
:-p

In thinking about this question, I guess I wouldn't want to feed anything to my dogs that I couldn't eat myself. However, I have tasted Milk Bone dog buiscuits on a dare and found them to be hard and dry.

Not recommended.
Animal feed is not subject to the same standards that our food is. Similarly, our digestive system is not the same as that of dogs.
They can tolerate more garbage than we can. Yes, what we call garbage is what we're feeding most of our animals. But somehow it's better for them than human food, as a surprising amount of professionals say.
