My hp is broke and I have been using xp and ie6. I got my old dell out and it still works but it has windows 98 and ie4. I tried to download ie7 but I keep getting an error that something is trying to be performed and click yes to proceed. I click yes and then get the same pop up. Does anyone out there know what I can do or where I can go for help?

first off there is nothing wrong with windows 98 now ie4 is not a up to date browser. there is still alot of viruses out there that keep searching for computers without updates. i would suggest you switch to either firefox or opera, its been years since ive used 98 but i believe both browsers work with 98. both are safer than ie4 even ie7, most viruses are wrote to attack ie because it is the most used browser. windows update doesnt offer updates for 98 anymore but they canstill be found try typing window 98 update in your brouser

You can't get IE7 on 98. Only those with XP with SP2 can download it.

You can get IE 6 go here and read system requirements;
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/default.mspx
Also, as mentioned you can use Mozilla Firefox or Opera.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
http://www.opera.com/
Read and make sure the version you get compatible, I think they are with most 98-XP systems.
