I believe the Holy Spirit tells us without words and he touches our hearts, whether or not we believe in him.
Romans 2:14-16
14. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15. Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

God places in our hearts what is right and wrong, that is why we are able to know what is sin and what is not. The Bible is a guideline to point us to the truth and what God desires from us in life. If we are really listening to the voice of God, He is guiding us everyday to come to Him for salvation and then follow Him in all we do. The Bible says that God's will is not hidden from us. Since Jesus is the same , yesterday, today and forever, He is still speaking!!

Unfortunately we do not have god here with us every moment to tell us what is right and what is wrong, babying us every step of the way. He did however give us a consious and the holy spirit (feelings that signify for the choices that we make). We were put on this earth to go through tribulation and to be tested to see if we are worthy to be with god after we leave this world. We would not be able to go through this test if god gave us all the answers.

How do we now know that slaughtering thousands of babies to change one man's mnd (pharaoh for example) is wrong? Why do we find that deplorable when god already did it? Where is that sense of wrong coming from?
And if Adam and Eve got their morality from god directly, how good must it be if they broke the rule right out of the gate?
Why do we find incest wrong? the bible says don't do it, then the patriarchs do it and suffer no ill efects.

in order for people to have known right and wrong there has to be a moral authority which is god, when they ate of the tree, the fruit was filled with knowledge of good and evil that is how basic mankind knows, no one can say we evolved, evolution or parents or whatever have nothing to do with knowing right and wrong, if you deny this then there is no definition of right and wrong outside of a moral authority and law which came from god.

We certainly need a standard of right and wrong, and I believe the Scriptures are better than any other I have seen. Many people are choosing to accept moral relativism, that there is no absolute right and wrong, but I believe that position is obviously wrong, because under it, Hitler wasn't wrong, he was just different. (I believe that thought is obviously WRONG!)

Adam and Eve didn't know the difference between good and evil. So God set them up. Pretty cruel.

People know right from wrong without having to look it up in a book.
If they don't, something is seriously wrong.
