My Friend went to a school dance yesterday. And this boy asked her to dance and she said ok. Because she felt sorry for him. But now the rumor has spreaded all around the grade that she likes him. What can she do?

Okay... first of all... how do you know it is all over school? I think this is an OVER exaggeration! If the Dance was just yesterday, who knows what has been said.
Secondly, I would have to ask - if she felt sorry for him, then dancing with him was a nice thing to do - to be nice!
I would have to say, that your friend sounds really mature for her age, and all she needs to say to anyone who asks about it is:
"We just wanted to dance. No big deal!"
If she doesn't make a big deal out of it... the rumor's will stop!
Believe me... the only rumors that seem to continue for a long time are the ones when the people involved make it into a big deal!

dont worry that happens all the time. if you walk around with some guy talking about anything, let him borrow your pencil, or laugh at his jokes everyone will say you like him. is just false assumptions. lets see that word "assume" you make an a$$-of-u-and-me. just ignore it. dont go out and say mean things like that. yelling "its not true i just did it out of pity" because that will hurt the guy and it wont make your friend look good. just talk to the guy tell him that you dont have feelings for him because as long as things are clear with the guy and your friend it doesnt matter what other people think. good luck :)

why does she have to care what other people think? If she knows she doesnt like him then that all that matters. People will eventually see that she doesnt like him by not being around him so just give it time im sure people will not give your friend a hard time for it and if they do then they are some immature little kids.

Just to ignore those people, they have nothing better to do than to spread nasty rumors that are not true. she knows the reason and that really all that matters.

She seems to have a good heart.... I hope her humor is as good. She should just be her kind self and go ahead with the plan.... but not flirt with him in any way... just dance.
