A puppy is a puppy, no matter the breed. What matters is the training that you provide now. When you know where your dog is coming from and what you are getting yourself into, then this is no big deal. If you want a good dog, which pitties ABSOLUTELY are, then you need to know HOW to be the boss. If you take your dog out with other dogs (which you NEED to do) then you need to MAKE SURE that your puppy isn't taking the dominant role in play with another dog. This means, if your puppy is playing very well with another dog and then takes the dominant role by being the chaser and engaging the game as a chaser, rather than chased, then correct if this happens more than twice. Correct with a quick snap and a "hey" or "no." Your pitty should learn his/her role as a follower to the leader (you) from the very beginning. American Pit Bull Terriers are WONDERFUL dogs and EXTREMELY loyal, if they have a leader to be loyal to. Things that will also help you have a great pit bull: -At one point during eating, take your dog's bowl away to help prevent any food aggression (not every time, but periodically)-and not in a "mean" way, just as to say, "hey this is mine real quick, ok, now you can have it back" -Do the same with toys to help establish boundaries, especially when and if a toy becomes something to obsess on, with pitbulls, it's better to stay away from very loud squeeky toys as when they chew on these they somewhat like an animal being killed and can cause highly obsessive behavior -When you walk your dog, make sure that YOU walk your dog, not your dog taking you for a walk....your head should be up and remember to look straight ahead and have relaxed shoulders and a relaxed hold on the leash, you're on a walk, enjoy it, your dog certainly will

Basic Training of the Puppy - Read here https://tr.im/zLXs2
The new puppy is certainly one of the most adorable and cuddly creatures that has ever been created. It is the most natural thing in the world to shower it with love and affection. However, at the same time it is important to realize that if you want to have a well trained adult dog, you need to begin the training process right away. The dog, like its related ancestor, the wolf, is a pack animal. One of the features of a pack is that it has a single dominant leader. Your new puppy is going to want that leader to be you, but if you do not assume that role from the very beginning, the puppy’s instincts will push him to become the leader.
The most important thing to remember about training the puppy during its first six months of life is that it must see you as the leader of the family pack. The essential thing is gaining the trust and the respect of the puppy from the beginning. You will not do this by allowing the puppy to do whatever it wants to do whenever it wants to do it. On the other hand, a certain amount of patience is required. Most people err in their early training by going to extremes one way or the other. Although you need to begin the basic training process at once, you can not expect your dog to do too much at first. Basic obedience training is fine and should include simple commands like sit, stay, and come. Remember that trying to teach the dog advanced obedience techniques when it is a puppy is much like trying to teach a five year old child algebra.
It is also important to restrain from cruel or abusive treatment of the puppy. You can not beat obedience into your dog, and it certainly is not going to engender feeling of respect and trust. House breaking is an area where this usually becomes a problem because of the anger that is triggered when the puppy fails and creates a mess inside the home. Although this issue must be addressed without anger, it most be addressed. If you allow the puppy to eliminate inside the house, it will continue to do so as an adult dog. The same thing is true of other destructive or dangerous behavior such as chewing and biting. Do not expect the puppy to grow out of it. You are going to need to train the puppy out of it, but you should do so firmly but with a sense of play and fun using positive reinforcement and lots of love and praise for good behavior.

It is illigal to own a pitbull, getting a cross means you have to buy from someone with an illigal pitbull and those dogs are nasty - you have to be very careful as because the british breeding has been underground for so long they are mainly bred to be nasty for fighting so they are wose than they used to be.
You can buy a breed from the US called an American Bull Dog, these are regulated and licenced and bred as family pets and so are bred to have a good tempremant. They are expensive, large and require special food because of their muscle mass and other breed specific needs. Do not take one on if you are not confident you could have complete control as they are still very strong dogs.
A family friend had an illigal cross that came from an illigal breeding (they had rescued the dog as a puppy or it would have been made to fight) and he was lovelly but you had to watch him - they go nasty at about 6 years old and will savage anything including the owner if not put down or treated with hormones. But he was a testement to the fact that it is up to the owner to be repsponsible - he was NEVER left alone with children and was very well trained. As soon as he started to turn he was taken straight to the vets to be put down (nasty being growling and acting not being threatening, dont wait that long once they bite without provokation you've had it!). He was lucky a new treatment had comeout and died in his sleep aged 9.

You should not be able to buy a Pitbull puppy in the UK as they are illegal, if you do manage to get one then someone will report it and you will have it taken off you and it will be destroyed. Read DEFRA's website about the dangerous dog list, Pitbulls are on there!

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7c1
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Here's two lines from a site: "Dog fighting is a barbaric activity and it will not be tolerated. Anyone who trains or breeds animals for that purpose can expect to be dealt with robustly.
Two more:
Under the Dangerous Dogs Act, owners of pure-bred pit bull terriers can be held responsible for their pets' actions. The RSPCA estimates there may be around 100 people involved in dogfighting in Britain, 170 years after it was banned.
You should read the rest. IF you can get any kind of bred pitbull, you can try the Penny Saver if they have it in UK. I got 4 rabbits and 4 parakeets from the Penny Saver. Don't get shipped pets though. Here's 2 sites. Good luck! I'm not sure what year the site was from though.

If you do buy a pitbull in the UK, it will be taken away from you and destroyed as they are illegal under the Dangerous Dogs Act, regardless of your intentions - basically you can't legally buy a pitbull in the UK
