My skin is really yellow and unlike many other girls, i prefer not to be tanned. Is there any ( natural ) way i can get my skin to be lighter or less yellow?

You don't really want to be white as paper like michael jackson now do you?

Having a little yellow in your skin with a little bit of a tan makes you look more realistic and healthy.

Think twice about this white as paper look.

When your red blood cells die, they produce a toxin called bilirubin. Bilirubin has a yellow tinge to it. Your liver will normal counteract the bilirubin in your body, so that the yellow color doesn't present on the surface. If your skin is "REALLY yellow", you may want to discuss that with your doctor. A person who has extremely yellow skin is referred to as "jaundiced" in color. Thats probably NOT the case with you, your melanocytes may just BE the color of your skin. Melanocytes are the cells in your body that determine what color your skin will be naturally. the amount of melanocytes isn't as important as the activity level of the ones you have. There are many factors that go into the appearance of our skin (and hair and eyes and ears and so on) but unfortunately, there isn't anything YOU can do to control the natural color. Of course tanning and ultra violet rays make these little melanocytes very excited, its probably a good idea that you have chosen not to go tanning. If you had better knowledge of why your skin is the color it is, maybe it wouldn't bother you so much. Sorry this probably wasn't the answer you wanted to hear but hopefully you find some of the information valuable.
