You can do this any way you like but when counting calories you generally count them all. If you would like a simple break down, every gram of fat has 9 calories, protein and carbs have 4 calories per gram, and alcohols have 7 calories per gram. So if you eat a piece of food that has 1 gram of fat, 5 grams of carbs, and 1 gram of protein, you should expect to find a MINIMUM of 33 calories, then you have to factor in all of the sugar alcohols and so on. Most people don't want to break it down, so the general rule is just to count all calories. Do you happen to know how many you should be consuming in a day? This is based on your body mass index (BMI) and it's easy to figure this out by typing "BMI calculator" into any google search. Hope this has helped a little.

You count all of the calories. Most food doesn't have Trans Fatty Acids - only foods cooked in a grease like Crisco...

If you're serious about losing weight you shouldn't be eating ANY trans fatty acids...

Count all the calories.

Try using www.fitday.com. It is a free program that calculates the calories, fats and carbs that you eat all day.

Try not to eat anything that has transfat.

Hope this helps.

Trans fats (bad fats) are hiding in many foods.--cookies, snacks, margarine, to name a few. Do not eat foods containing trans fats period--even if you are not on a diet. Tran fats are heart attacks on a plate.
