I have 5 kids, 2, 5, 8, 9, 13. They all want a dog expecially my 13 year old. I want a dog that doesn't shed alot, one that is allergy friendly, and is good with children. I am open to anything. Please help me find one, and If you have any websites I could visit that would be great!

I would say the Golden Retriever is the best for kids because I have one and he never bites my sisters kids when they poke him and grab him. But maybe not because of the allergy thing.

NOT a golden retriever. Goldens are very active and will definitely knock down your little ones. Plus they shed ALOT. I would take a look on petfinder.com in the classifieds and look for a dog that has been around children. I also suggest talking to a shelter counselor first. Adopting a dog is like having another child in the house.

I have a Maltese mix and its the cutest little thing. I rescued him from a place just up the road and he is a senior dog but he hasn't shed at all, he has this tail that curves and has dark eyes just like my friend who spent $1500 on a puppy.. which was a purebred Bichon Frise, Bichon's are a hypo allergetic dog.
Try petfinder.com for a look see at this breed. Also with rescues they can tell you about the temperment of the dog whereas shelters just have too many dogs to tell you that information.

I'd have to vote for the poodle. I'd avoid the retrievers. Great dogs, wonderful family pets, but they are big time shedders and they aren't the best choice for allergy sufferers.

Of course, Boxers are great with kids, their shedding in minimal and they are fairly good for those with allergies.

Dachshunds are also very clean and allergy friendly, though some times they aren't the greatest with kids.

Labradoodle !!!!! There quite big but dont moult and are fantastic with all ages of children they make great pets even though they are a big breed they dont need long walks as the breeder said the cross breed in them , means that they are not suitable for long energetic walks ! So a perfect dog for a person that is busy with her big family and that wouldnt have the time to go on long walks!!!!!!!!!! Hope that helps!!!!Good luck!

Standard poodles are awesome family dogs.

Smart, shedless (for the most part), hypoallergenic, great with kids.
