That would be easy for any true Americans. Cause people died to give you that right. A privilege not many countries have.

study the causes and the candidates
vote your conscience, vote the person not the Party
Vote or keep your complaints about gov to yourself

I think your paper would have a better chance if you chose a topic of why many people don't vote. They feel that neither party is going to do a damn thing for them and its a waste of time.

Starting the first line with a statistic is always good. "___% of people do not vote." Then, amongst that " ____% of those registered to vote do not vote anyway." You have to play with the wording a little, but I think that's a good start!
