I am currently taking lithium and Lamictal but want to take lamictal only. I would like to hear how Lamictal as a monotherapy is working for anyone with Bipolar I.

dont know what monotherapy means but i take just lamictal. its for bipolar disorder and so is lithium so i dont know why you would be on both. but I told my dr there was no way i was going to go on lithium so he prescribed me lamictal. works fine for me so far.

I was. It didn't work. I need to take a psychotropic in addition to lamictal (which generally only affects my anxiety not my bipolar). Maybe it will work for you but I had some pretty serious manic issues without a stronger drug (I also was on a low dose, allergies)

I have taken Lamictal and Dilatin together and it worked for 11 months and then I had a bad seizure...but that's me because I havent found my pills yet..

yes i do have bipolar.I'm on lithium that's good for me..but the lamictal did not work for me.to tell you the Truth it mad my feel worse.that is just me.if it works for you then go for it.best of luck:) B HAPPY!!

Why would you want to take drugs is this a support group or peer pressure to do these kinds of things?
