Chicken soup fights congestion that comes with a cold. Chicken has an amino acid that thins the mucous lining of the sinuses, thus relieving stuffiness.

Greek Steak Sandwich

1 lb beef fast-fry minute steak, cut in four pieces 500 g
1 tsp each: garlic powder and black pepper 5 mL
½ cup low fat yogurt 125 mL
¼ cup light mayonnaise 50 mL
½ cup each: diced cucumber and tomato 125 mL
2 tsp dried oregano 10 mL
¼ tsp salt 1 mL
4-8 Boston or butter lettuce leaves 4-8
2 Greek-style pita bread (no pocket pita), halved 2
crumbled feta cheese and sliced black olives (optional)

This hearty refreshing sandwich is best eaten with a knife and fork.

Sprinkle both sides of steak with garlic powder and pepper. Mix yogurt, mayonnaise, cucumber, tomato, oregano and salt together; set aside. In large non-stick or lightly oiled skillet, brown steaks about 1-2 minutes each side. Cover pita with lettuce, top each with steak and spoon sauce over steak. Sprinkle cheese and olives on top, if desired.

Variation: Add ¼ tsp/1 mL dried dill weed and ¼ cup/50 mL sliced green onion.

TIP: For a different version, toss torn greens with sauce and thin slices of cooked steak and wrap in pitas or tortillas or serve as a salad.
Yield: 4 servings

I agree with Marlene. Soup is a nice filler. You can add a sandwich and a nice glass of iced tea!
