Ok. well, when i say i am sick, i meant, that my head hurts...all my muscles are soar (not like after working out soar) and i keep feeling like i have to throw up, and of course i have to pee like crazy...(sorry if you didnt want to hear that)
and my throat is super soar, and i am coughing, it is just bad... but my boy friend and my family all feel perfectly fine.
and my mommy picked up KFC for dinner and my sister and i both got one of those bowls....but she didnt want her chicken...so i ate it...
and today she told me that she thought it tasted funny...so i ate it...do you think that would be the cause?

You could not overdose on Vitamin C from oranges as the Vitamin C content is not that high. If you feel unwell from eating too many oranges it could be a sensitivity to the citric acid and not from Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) content. Some people do have a sensitivity to citric acid. And some others have a sensitivity to ascorbic acid. Hence why manufacturers of Vitamins have produced what they call buffered Vitamin C, or Ester C under a Tradename. This is for those with a stomach sensitivity to acidic substances.

Are you OK with other fruit. For instance Kiwi is the best fruit source of Vitamin C. If you like Kiwis and are OK eating them then opt for Kiwis as a reliable source of Vitamin C.

Maybe just eat oranges in small doses.

No. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin and you will pee out what you don't use. I hope you are not going on the 60 year old RDA crap that 100% of the RDA is 60 mg for the right amount to take each day. The minimum amount should be 1000 mg or 1500 mg if you smoke. Smoking destroys vitamin C. Also make sure the brand you get contains bioflavonoids and rose hips for proper absorption. (K-Mart has it)

I would say if you are just eating clemintines then no you cannot overdose. If you were taking vitamin c tablets in excess then you could. The acid from the clemintines is more than likely making your stomach upset. Lay off of them for a while and drink plenty of fluids.

way to much of anything can kill you....... you can actually overdose on water if you do too much in a short period. Look at the lady that tried to win a nintendo wii system and drank two gallons in an hour and died from it..... The vitamin c in a few oranges wont kill you but if the oranges are bad it can cause you to get sick......

Too much of anything is not good. Our bodies can only tolerate so much before it shows signs of rejection, e.g., nausea, vomiting, etc. Those are only some of the external manifestations. There are also effects on the liver as this is the organ that takes care of our bodies' waste.

Did you hear about the woman who died trying to drink gallons and gallons of water?

Your body will absorb up to 1000 mg an hour of vitamin C, the rest your body will flush out. Drink plenty of water and maybe eat something else.

You don't say how long you have been eating the clementines. Is it every day? And how long have you felt sick? Was it sudden or gradual? Very likely it's not the oranges!

Overdose on Vitamin C can lead to liver failure. You;d have oranges coming out of your orifices though before that happened.

Vit C is water soluble and is excreted via your kidneys. Overdose is extremely unlikely but stomach irritation is extremely high, causing heartburn or ulcers. 250-500mg is all you need daily.
