I believe that angels do take human form. Yet I also believe they are spiritual beings with astounding power to assist or aide human life form in moments of trauma without visibly being present or appearing in the human form. They can intervene with their grace and mercy to protect us from physical harm. I don't think a kind act from someone makes them an angel, I think that is just human compassion. But one could argue that human compassion is an angel bestowing mercy through that individual.
I have encountered human compassion when least expected and believe it to be heaven sent. And recently I experienced an angel's intervention in a car accident. My legs were pinned between 2 cars in a parking lot, one car rolled into me. I broke no bones and had no visable bruises. I did suffer a bone bruise in one leg. My knees were luckly not injured! And my pain was gone in 24 hours!

I don't believe angels to be either metaphysical entities of light (or whatever else) or magical creatures with 2, 4, 6...etc. wings. However, neither am I a complete unbeliever. To me guardian angels are my "ancestors". Both my mom and my grandmother have told me that when they need advice they see my great grandmother in their dreams who comforts them and counsels them. Of course one could always argue that they see her only because in their subconsciousness the qualities of comfort, stability and wisdom are symbolised by her physical image, but these two women in my life do strongly believe that she comes to them in order to lead them on the right path. Either way, whatever explanation happens to be the right one, to me my great grandmother would always be an angel. She has all the right characteristics: she guides, she advises, she warns and she does all of that with sincerity. Through the women in my family she also comforts me because I know when my mother and my grandmother will be gone they will always be by my side as angels (whether real or not).

A real Angel is a real Angel, I have encountered them spiritually and I have encountered them in human form.
