Wrong section....... but.......
1) Irans military is much better then Iraqs was before the invasion. They will use there military to fight us. They probably have terrorist cells ready to strike in the US.
2) Regional war that might have some ripple effects. Its probable that Syria will support Iran.
3) With the current political situation its likely we will just use our air power and no ground invasion. Occupying Iran would take a draft since our military is already stretched. Iran will not be able to win the war. We might not be able to keep control of the region.
So either way its a lose lose position. A mad man with nukes is not acceptable.
I hope people in Iran kick that idiot out of office and hang him next to the mullahs. US could turn Iran in to a radio active desert but unlike the terrorist we respect life. If there president had that kind of weapons he would use them against Israel. Then the land would be useless.

Iran is vast, it's much bigger than Iraq. Tehran has 7 million people, it's about the same size as London. The Iranian army is well prepared and funded, and although they'd be no match for the Americans, they would be more ingenious and almost definately draw others into the bloodshed, which would be catastrophic.
Iran has better allies than Iraq (when the USA attacked Iraq, it was the perfect time as Saddam had practically fallen out with everybody), and has been holding talks with China. If the Americans do attack right now, expect a nuke to land in your back yard, courtesy of the eastern powers.

If Iran were attacked, it doesn't matter by whom, it would attack Israel in retalliation. Israel woudy respond with a counter-attack, possibly nuclear, which would draw the rest of the Middle Eastern countries in on the side of Iran. Agains this combined force, Israel would almost certainly require aid from Nato, which would drag Islamic coutries from South-East Asia and Africa in, which would...
You get the drift. It would not just be a regional war. It could very esily turn into a religious world war.

Lets re-phrase that . If Iran attacks Iraq and American forces, what is going to happen? The only way America will defend themselves and the poor suffering , innocent children/women and men , is when or if Iran will enter into Iraq. That is when they will need to advance forward and fight Iran. America will send more troops and it will be a big clash. Hopefully that won't happen. The People of Iraq are suffering. Poor little children. Pray for Peace in the Middle East.

Iran will probably respond, but they have powerful allies - Russia and China. Rusia wants to protect her southern border, and china wants to protect the new oil agreements they recently signed, so both would be willing to respond to Usa & israel if either should attack first.
The rest of the world will probably fight on Irans side, against USA, because - quite frankly - everyone is sick and tired of George Bush's sheer STUPIDITY!!!!!
Whatever happens it will be world war 3 and Bush will be the ONLY person to blame!!! He's had 6 years to change direction, and he does NOTHING.

it wouldnt be USA that attacked Iran, it would be Israel.
Because Americas military is so technologically advanced, and our sheer size and recruits number over 1,300,000, we wouldnt have to reintroduce the draft, just build a coalition.
Heres how a war would go.
Israel attacks nuke facilities.
Iran calls on Hezbollah and other terrorist to attack Israel and American interests.
Iran invades Iraq.
USA forms a coalition with NATO and regional allies(the Suadis, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, etc.)
USA lauches and Air war similar to the Gulf war.
Within 3 weeks the Iranian army and governmental capabilities are destroyed.
Then a ground invasion begins.
within weeks iran is under allied control, but terror attacks are rampant.
Then we have iran in the situation similar to Iraq.

it will just result in another war that will have major implications just as the other wars we have going on anyway iran most definately will respond back and it will be chaotic as their will be alot of lives taken away due to this war but at least this will be a correct war instead of the war in iraq which has no basis the war in afghanistan is the correct war as well

2. It would automatically be a war on a larger scale because it would involve two very powerful nations.

Yes i do think Iran would respond in some way,but I'm not sure how.I also think this would lead to the further polarization of the Islamic nations and the western world.And finally i think that it would turn most of the middle east against the united states
