a KONG can't be beat!
Get a good quality rope toy...the one that is just braided/twisted string tied in a big knot. They are at all pet supplies, and in the HartzMountain display at your grocer's. (Don't get a dollar store one)..Soak it overnight in un salted chicken or beef broth. Dry it in a slow oven. Your dog should enjoy chewing on this, and it acts as dental floss to keep the mouth fresh... .
When the flavor is all chewed out (about 1 month), or it gets too stinky, just wash with plain hot water, re soak and dry

Try firehose but there is none. Nylabone actually works very well and keeps him busy. Don't get the kind that is flavored, get the original The firehose will last a little longer but I have a puggle (pug-beagle), who is amazing but no toy is strong enough for him. If we get one that is any type of cloth material it is destroyed usually within a day or two. He hunts for the squeaky thing in it because he wants to chew on that to, I think those are called tuffies. We just stopped buying toys for him and he just chews on his nylabone. Nylabones are great for your dogs teeth, too!! So are greenies, they don't last too long but it keeps him busy for a while. Try pig ears too, that will take them a while to chew it all up.

Kongs are good. My Kong has survived a German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky and has no signs of wear. To make it more interesting, you can put treats or peanut butter in them, and the dog will spend hours licking it out. They come in different sizes for any dog.
You also might want to look into Nylabones. They aren't completely indestructible, and will need replacing when they wear down, but they last a long time. They come in different sizes and strengths for different chewers.
Toys made of lengths of rope are pretty sturdy; they tend to last for awhile.
If you try pressed rawhide instead of rolled rawhide, they last longer.
Hope this helps...

i wish i knew. i have a mini dach, and he chews through EVERYTHING! i don't get it. he's been thru 2-3 red Kongs, and i bought him a medium sized BLACK Kong (for strong chewers). so far it's lasted. sometimes he's not interested in it. no tennis ball, sqeaky toy, etc has made it past 24 hrs with being ripped apart. he tore up a $7 stuffed animal in minutes. that was the last one he got! $9 here, $6 there- everything get's torn/eaten.
i'm going with the black Kong. make sure it's not an immitation one. mine was $9 for the medium size.
good luck. email me if you find something better.

Try the ruffians squeaky toys made by jw pet from your local petsmart. They are heavy duty rubber toys and have lasted for 3 months with our lab who has chewed through everything else (except for the block kong). If you look up ruffians dog toys on amazon it will bring a ton of them up.

Kong. They are pretty much indestructable. You can get ones that you put treats in, there is one with a flavored paste to put in it, and regular ones. They are about $10 for a small one.
I think the black ones are the srongest.

I think things like tennis balls are good for small dogs. Also my dog likes to chase things that move around a lot.

KONG!
Don't give him marrow bones. They're too hard for chewing and are notorious for breaking teeth.
