God is so compassionate for we cannot live except by the death of another. Look around and see that it is true.

He gave His life that we might live. Can you not celebrate that?

The gospel is everywhere crying out to us. Are we too blind and deaf and dumb to know? Are we too filled with our own foolish thoughts for God's thoughts? Think of the value that He has placed on us. All this for us.

We are so exalted by Him and yet we so despite Him, each turning to his own way.

Believeing in god has nothing to do with eating meat or being compassionate. You need to read your bible.

I used to think that too when I gave up meat over 30 yrs. ago. But remember, God gave us free-will.

According to all scriptures, we "reap what we sow", if will fill our bodies with dead foodstuffs, eventually poor health will follow.

I do feel though, that if the animals are well cared for when alive, and killed respectfully and humanely it is more acceptable.

And finally, human beings have flatter teeth,( think of a horse or cow), carnivoires have sharper pointed teeth, (dogs, tigers etc.)
Humans have much longer digestive tracts, to digest grains and fibrous food, whereas carnivoires have much shorter ones, so as to rapidly eliminate putrifing matter. and lastly the digestive enzyme hydrochloric acid is very much stronger in carnivoires, to break down the proteins effectively.

I also think in view of the health scares such as mad cow disease, salmonella etc., we need to look at all the facts and draw our own conclusions, the facts speak for themselves !!!

God never said not to eat meat. That's why.

I'm not religious but I am compassionate and I eat meat.

You only have to look at our bodies - digestion, jaw structure, etc etc - which, if you belive in God, you believe he made, to see that we are carnivores.

You could, conceivably, while believing in God, share the meat with the poor.

Mark 7:19
because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared all foods clean.)
Mark 7:18-20 (in Context) Mark 7 (Whole Chapter)
Remember it is wise to read the whole chapter to make sure that you understand what is being said here, but God has indeed declared " all food to be clean, or safe to eat ".

God told us its okay.

"Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." (Genesis 9:3) (Or in modern parlance, "Beef! It's what's for dinner!")

Besides, if God didn't want us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?

Human beings like to think they are superior to animals. Try and believe in God and not feed your children. See how you feel.

Hey, plants have feelings too. Got compassion? Don't eat vegetables or fruits or meat or fish. Everything else is okay.

Bon apitite.
