Her very words were, "I saw him first." I really have no idea as to what to do about this. I mean, I really like this guy a lot, but I don't want to hurt my best friend...even though she was kind of mean about me telling her. My mom said to just go on with liking him and to let my friend do what she will. No offense, but she's really not that good with guys, so should i just go for it?

Go for it, if she's a true friend she would you want to be happy and let you go for it. I had a similar problem a couple weeks ago, it's so stupid to fight over. Boyfriends last a couple weeks, maybe months, true friends last forever. If the guy likes you and not her why shouldn't he be happy too? It's not just about you and your friend, a guy is involved in this too. It's his choice if he wants to go out with you, don't let your friend ruin it.

If you are truly best friends, you will realize that guys will come and go, but a real friend can be there forever. Just be friendly with the guy, and let him make the move as to which one he wants to date. If he doesn't choose you, be fine with it and move on. There are millions of single guys out there. You don't need this one.

If you want to keep your best friend, your best bet is to make a pact with her that neither one of you will make the first move with him. If he chooses one of you, and makes the first move, then part of your pact would be for the other friend not to get mad.

It's bad to lost someone who u like for someone who u hate. but it worst when u lost a bestfriend.

It's better to lost someone who u like for someone u love & care bout right? - ur bestfriend :)

Ur mum is juz right. U may just continue liking him but of course, not as ur special boyfriend. U may like him juz like normal friend ok?

U deserve to have the feeling of liking someone as long as u know the limitation.

It is said that, " All is fair in love and war "
Folow your heart, and if she is such a good close friend, then how come she she tried to wedge her self in between you and this dude any way?

Hello marcheymann,

Yeah, go for it. You never know, he might be liking you more than her, but doesn't want to say anything. Or, you could all just be friends and see what happens.

Best of luck.

I think that you should ask the guy who he likes more. If your friend is not that good with guys likes my friend is.... you should definitely go for it.
