I have an AKC registered Doberman Pinscher that is 11 weeks old. I would like to check his pedigree, for my own information, & see if he has any 'champions' in his bloodline. I am only looking for myself, & hate the thought of paying for the information. Is there any way to check this without buying a 'service'?

Here is a Dobeman pedigree database. Hopefully it will be of help> http://www.cybergoat.com/cgi-bin/dbman/db.cgi?db=lamancha&uid=
the database for the UK is really good, so I hope this one is too.
If you can't find what you want, this is an excellent pedigree service, and the one I always use> http://www.leidigspedigrees.com/

When you send in his registration paper you can get a certified pedigree at the same time. The cost for his registration 7 the pedigree would be @ $17.

This way not only will you have his registration but an AKC certified pedigree.

Also if you bought from a responsible, reputable breeder they should have given you at least a 3 generation pedigree when you bought him.

If you look on his AKC paper you will see the names of his sire and the dam. If they have a CH prefix in front of their names you have a Champion bred pup. If not, you would probably be wasting your $ to order a pedigree to look for Ch's.
If you were sold a pup of Champion lines you would have paid a premium price for the pup and the breeder would have gladly shown you the pup's background.
If this is not good enough info for you...just simply ask the pup's breeder for a copy of the pedigree.

If the breeder doesn't have it, you can go on-line with the AKC and order an on-line pedigree. For four generations, it is $10 and for five, it is $12. Here is the link:

These fees are very reasonable. Good luck!

I am not 100% sure if you have to pay, but go to the AKC website and look her up. Or if you do have to pay contact the breeder. If she is reputable and all her's are registered she should have a family tree.

You can just as the breeder can't you? If you got him from a reputable breeder , it's possible there may be champion bloodlines somewhere but if you got him from a backyard breeder or a pet store, dont' count on it.
