Yes he is of age to decide where he wants to live but it has to be done through the court system, otherwise it would be considered contempt of a court order

At 18 he is on his own in most states. At 17 he is old enough to decide where he wants to live no matter who has custody, don't you think.

in the state of michigan i believe a 17 year old has the right to choose regardless of custody. a child of that age has to learn lifes lessons. it may not be a good idea in someones eyes but the child has to grow. we all learn by good and bad decisions.

i would say yes.
check with your state to see what the age is that a child can choose which parent he wants to live with.
he is 17, and i know we want to keep our children as long as we can but he's almost an adult. he shouldn't have to take you to court just to be able to say who he wants to live with.
