I worked for three companies: The first is a big retail outlet I worked there for 5 mths Jan-may.I travelled out between june-Sept. I worked for 2 week in a 2nd compny. on October I got a better job where i worked till December.i am still working in the 3rd company.Did I qualify As a single or married

If you are married you must either file a joint return or married filing separately return. You can't use single.

If you're married, you're married. Pure and simple. Your choices are Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately. Normally you will pay less tax with a joint return.

Your spouse's citizenship status will also affect your ability to file a joint return. See IRS Pub 501 and Pub 519, chapter 1 for more information on this. If you can't file a joint return due to this, you must file Married Filing Separately.

If your wife is either a citizen or permanent resident of the US and has a social security number, you can file as married whether she lived here or not. If she's neither of the above (or doesn't have a social security number), you can't file as married. Doesn't matter if you send her money or not, doesn't matter if she lives in the US or not.
