No, olive oil is an unsaturated in two positions, This unsaturation (Double bonding) will keep it away to be considered as a storage fat or to be transformed into a storable fat...
It is very useful because of this unsaturation.
Second, olive oil, has the properity of essential oils (That can't be manufactured in the body and needed all the time by being gained in diet" all essential oils (olive can be biotransformed into essential) will prevent from obesity and atherosclerosis.....

HECK YES! i was also wondering this and my weight training teacher (from school) told us that drinking ALONE wouldnt be a great idea at all.of course substitute it for the other bad oil but dont drink it straight from the bottle! to lose weight you should try to drink proteins. Like Skim milk before u go to bed. then in the morning something with lots of protein to give you energy through out the day like toast with natural peanut butter or something like that.. then obviously excersise!

If you're drinking that all day instead of water, juices, and other liquids, yes, you will gain weight. Olive oil is good for you but it's meant for you to dip the bread into it, not to drink it with the bread. Too much of a good thing would be your situation.

I think you'll gain weight from the carb and not so much the oil.

Simply put, extra virgin olive oil has fats that are good for you, but too much of any good thing can be bad. So just have it in moderation.

Treat it like any other food. Look at the label and see how much fat and how many calories there are. You'll gain weight from anything if you have too much of it, so have it in moderation and you should be fine.
