I am no expert, but a lot of curries (especially Thai) contain coconut / coconut milk. I'm afraid you're going to have to read the ingedient list on everything you buy :( especially Indian and Thai ready meals.

Sorry to hear about the reaction. Are you sure it was coconut though. No other possibilities? If so you have to read the labels on food very carefully and be careful if you eat out.

you have to read the labels unfortunately....it's not as simple as knowing certain foods, a lot of foods may have hidden ingredients that you might not think of, as thickeners or enhancers. In short, now that you've had a reaction, read EVERYTHING- the list of ingredients in everything you buy, and ask at restaurants. It's not easy, but it's the only way to avoid reactions.
