Don't listen to the hype and the fantasy adds.

Join the USMC.

The training is easy and the benefits are great. Just tell the D.I. why you joined up and he/she will be sure to help you achieve your goals, and ease up any pressure on you because they will now know your reason for being there. All D.I.s (drill instructors), like any good instructor, will try to help their students along as much as they can.

Non of them to be honest because the way its going now, you are more than likely going to be deployed quite a bit. If you want to do online classes then I guess it would be okay. No matter what branch, you are going to deal with the war at some point or another. Go to one of the Academy's. Then only do the 4-6 years. What ever you do, if you don't want to be gone for long amounts of time, I don't recommend the Army because you will be gone all the time!! With the Navy 6-8 sometimes up to a year. The Air Force is already doing 6 month deployments and lots of people end up staying longer than that. No matter which branch you join you are going to be involved in the war.

It sounds like you are trying to figure out a way to pay for college without taking out a bunch of loans good for you! A lot of people join the military for a lot of different reasons and education is a big one. Not everybody has a trust fund or a mommy and daddy who will pay for everything. They no longer only give $15,000 for school is is a lot more. If in school full time you make about $1050 a month. I think the total amount is about $50,00 you have 10 years after you get out of the military to use it or you loose it. unless you can get the $50,000 scholarship that I know the USMC offers not sure about the other services, the scholarship never expires. Also look at what kind of job you want and see if it is possible to get that particular job in the military and have them train you, the military offers some very good training and good experience and most civilian employers are glad to hire someone with military background because it shows you have discipline. I know this for a fact since I am prior military. Some people don't realize how expensive college is and that a student does not want to be working 2 jobs and have a full schedule at work, or that their parents can not afford to pay for their children to go to college. And it is no way frauding the government for joining to help you pay for college it is considered an incentive. good luck and I hope that I helped you some!

You can go with the Guard, but fact is they are about to call up over 20,000 people to deploy and that is something you need to consider before you up and sign up just for the money. We are in a war, bottom line. If you really want to serve your country for 4 years then go Army all the way. Odds are still high of deployment, as in any branch, but Army in my mind is the best of all the services. (I am biased since my husband is Army Infantry and deployed right now, but oh well.) It is a good way to get money for school if you are willing to accept the reality that school $$ is not all you will be getting. You will be Army educated (or whatever branch you choose) which can be very helpful in many career fields, you may deploy, but all in all I think it is a good idea because no matter which you choose or how long you serve you will come out a stronger better person for it in the end ;-) Best of luck to you in weighing out this decision.

None!!! All Branches are subject to combat. I'm assuming that is undesirable. Contact your College of and see if they can help. I'm a 6 year Vet and served in Dessert Storm and the military is a good thing for some people but not if all your looking for is an education. Good luck.

if your only want out of serving in the military is for the money towards school, then you shouldn't join. No matter which branch you choose, you still have to be deployed somewhere. I'll tell you what my recruiter said to me, " The Military isn't for the waek of heart. Make sure that joining is what you really want to do." If your just looking to use the GI Benifits then i would choose to apply for a student loan instead.

Any of the Secuity companes now in vogue.
Blackwater being the most famous or infamous where you can earn enough with one years sevice to pay for many years of education.
teh problem is in gaining skills enough to demand the higher pay scales that men of experience can ask for but even the entry level and no they are not all shooters, many are trainers, clucks, drivers, weapons specialist etc that pay very well also.
If you are in England or US look up US Systems US and Defense Systems Limited in London.
A Mr Galuchi of Us citizenry is head of Us and an employee of high rank in the London.
It is a more white colar group as hey do a lot of contractural work for the Un dignitarys and such.
Unidyn, MPRI of Us fame which is even paid to run our ROTC progrms by the military upon college campus 's. Ruxton Virginia has 2 employers of security and Delaware has corporations numbering some thirty who supply such services.
If making money is the object even Haliburton driving a truck in war zones makes more in a year than a grunt does in four.
If in Israel where compulsory service is a must you can join one or the other of such groups that have even pulled military security duity for Us troops worldwide including in New Orleans after Katrina.
Many ways to join a professional military to make enough for college without having to join US mlitary.

Am sorry to burst your bubble but there is not such thing. Specially right now, I know several ppl that tried that to only walk away with 15,000. That doesn't cover but one year of a two yr. College(not counting the supplies)and they did all 4yrs. of their contract... am soo glad that it expired for the ones that are done with(ARMY) I still got two more friends that I hope they just come back from Iraq, screw the money I hope they are alive! Besides is not like you get to pick,"well I would like to go in the infantry dep." they test you and based on your scores they place you. When I was in High School I did the test, I don't remember where were they going to put place me because I barely passed the test lol I think i was going on the front line... Specially since am Hispanic. we tomato picking ppl lo. I suggest that if you still want to go for it you should call anonymous to NAVY ARMY air forces and ask, but do not give your info until you have made up your mind. They will bug you 1,000 times more then telemarketers and bill collectors all together.

Best possible is join the Guard and get into a TDA unit, a unit that does not deploy due to its job. It does not mean that you will not get pulled to deploy. Like another said though, you would be joining for the wrong reasons.

If you do join, take pride is serving America!!

More people get turned away from the military every year becasue they do not qualify than actually join.

It is an HONOR to serve.

Either the Airforce Reserve or Army Reserve. Keep in mind the Army is WAY more tougher than the Airforce. I am an Army brat and have seen both sides. My brother just got out of the Airforce and joined the Army. My husband is also in the active Army. When my husband gives out advice he always says he would not tell anyone to join the Army. But we also have friends in both of the reserves and they have been deployed, if they want u to go - you go. You have no choice, once you sign that contract the government owns you. Unless you get kicked out or get out on a medical reason. But those aren't very honerable (well atleast the getting kicked out one ain't)

Hope this helps!

Any of the services have education assistance. But if that's your sole reason to go in?.....FORGET IT. If you have to be deployed, you'll be a detrement to the other members or you may just come back in a body bag. If you are in college now, stay there and apply for financial aid assistance.
