Why would an omniscient being place Adam and Eve in paradise if he knew they would eat the forbidden fruit - isn't that just sick and sadistic?

He did, but I faked him out by changing it at the last second. I made him turn around and cover his eyes, so I know he wasn't peeking.

If a god who exists separately from us and who created us knew the future, why would he have created us in the first place since, according to most Christians, we're not worthy of his love or mercy?

not only did he know it, He arraanged my day so that I would be here to witness of His Love for all. God wants to draw you to Himself and He sent His son to show the way. Trust Jesus
