i know what the problem is,there is a connection for your airbag pretensioners under both your front seats, what happens is when you move either seat these connectors move and cause an open circuit which illuminates your airbag light, you will probably find if you put your hand under the seat and wiggle the connectors the light will extinguish...BUT,this is covered by warranty and renault will modify the wiring and cost you no damage to your wallet, good luck...........ross ALSO GOODALL HASNT GOT A CLUE,IF ITS UNDER WARRANTY YOU DONT PAY!!!!THEY WONT READ THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT CAUSE ITS THE AIRBAG COMPUTER AND IT WONT RESET IF ITS OPEN CIRCUIT,SOME1 IS TRYING TO GAIN POINTS BY TRYING TO PUT OTHER ANSWERS DOWN,NASTY!!!

this is a common problem with Renault clios is very easy to repair but will have to be taken to Renault garage for repairing. if the vehicle is a 05 plate then this will be covered by the warranty.
basically theres a connector under both front seats for the side airbags which sometimes becomes a bad connection therefore causing the airbag light to come on.....
it just a matter of removing the connectors and soldering the wires together which will cure the problem but the car will also have to be connected to a computer to have the airbag light reset.
having worked as a Renault mechanic believe me this is one of the most common problems with clios, but don't worry it doesn't mean the airbag is going to go off but I'd get it looked at as soon as possible.
hope this is off help to you??

Take it to a decent garage - not a renault dealer as they will overcharge
They will connect their diagnostic computer to the car and read the Engine Management and this will specify the fault - they might be able to reset it for you, but this will definately tell you what the issue is. should cost about £20
Ignore the other **** answers from people trying to build up points and again avoid Renault dealers as they just want your £'s

There is a fault with the system. You need to go renault garage and they can check it on their computer system. Our BMW had this and it was a fault with the seat pad that recognises that there is a passenger.

It's doing its job, telling you it's found a problem. May be nothing, but you can't afford to take chances. Ask nice Mr Renault to have a look at it.
