My teacher, Srila Prabhupada, gave the example of the sun. We can realize the sun in three aspects. When the sun rises, it is light everywhere. The sunlight is all pervasive. We don't say that the sun is in our house, but we know that the sunlight is also the sun. When we look outside, we can see the sunshine is evaporating water, causing photosynthesis, and distributing heat. We can see the glowing sun is still in the sky, and yet it is acting. Then there is the sun disk itself. Both the sunshine and the sunlight are aspects of the sun, yet the sun disk is always remaining apart from it. Similarly, God is all-pervasive, and is everywhere, even within the atom, just like the sunlight. He is the active principal behind the laws of nature, the movements of the planets, and the maintenance of life, just like the sunshine. And He is always removed, just like the sun disk. Sometimes, if it is cloudy, we cannot see either the sunshine or the sun disk, but we know that the sun is there because there is light. In this way, we can understand that even if we cannot directly see God, the evidence of His existence can be seen in all living beings.

God dwells, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, within the heart of every true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" (I Corinthians 6:19)

That depends on your point of view. Christians often believe that God is everywhere if you believe in Him. Muslims believe that Allah is "as close as your jugular vein", but not inside us. Many Pagans believe that God/dess is in everywhere - in trees, rocks, us, old stories, firelight, etc.

To continue with reference to Lori's example, after appreciating the comparison to the Sun's rays all-pervading pantheist feature,, to the all-pervading feature of God, the Sun disc itself is compared to realizing that the Lord also resides in everyone's heart, in His localized feature as Lord Vishnu / Narayana. What reductionistic scientists refer to as "intuition" , or impersonalists call the "inner voice" is known in the Bhagavad Gita as the Supersoul, the Lord within the heart of EVERY living being, not just humans. As the Supersoul, He is directing our wanderings, providing us with knowledge, rememberance and forgetfulness.
He is the one inside you that inspired you to write this thoughtful question !
Above and beyond this second level of self-realization, in the final and third level there is God's ultimate personal feature. On this level He is known as Bhagavan or Sri Krishna. Krishna descends to this world personally , and so His village, called Vrndavana, is non-different from Him. You can go there and visit, only 3.5 hrs from new Delhi, and feel His powerful existence there. He is present in His Deity form as Radha-Krishna to accept our offerings, in His temples. He is non-different from His Holy names, so Hare Krishna devotees go out on street chanting or, sankirtan to chant His names, and purify the atmosphere. He is non-different from the foodstuffs that are offered to Him, and ultimately , He is in the hearts of those who love Him.
Sri Krishna says :
"The pure devotee is always within the core of My heart, and I am always in the heart of the pure devotee. My devotees do not know anything else but Me, and I do not know anyone else but them." —Srimad-Bhagavatam 9.4.68
"I am not there in My abode, or in the heart of a meditating yogi, but I am where My pure devotees are singing My Names."
