She does have a big problem. She is probably beginning to be deficient in vital nutrients by her very limited eating patterns. Tell her to get a book by Bob Greene, called "Total Body Makevoer". This guy tells how to lose weight safely while working out. There is a certain number of calories per day that must not be decreased in any way, otherwise you begin to threaten your health. You can be too thin, and I think your friend is headed for the anorexic zone. She may also have depression, masking as inability to sleep. She is truly treading a fine line between health and illness. Tell her to get her health facts straightened out. "You On A Diet" by Drs. Oz and Roizen also tell you how to lose weight safely. You cannot live on power bars! Please tell your friend to realize her sleep disturbances are indicating an imbalance of some sort is beginning to happen to her body. She must determine what it is , before it gallops out of control. Take her to a mirror and ask her to describe what she sees to you. If it's a description, with "I look fat" and you can see she's not, then tell her to get help fast! Something is wrong here. She may need a psychologist. I hope she is not substituting her workouts for feelings of low self-esteem. Anti-depressants may be the way for her to get back on track! Help her get a reality check!

i have herd of these chemicals your body needs in order to remain in a deep REM sleep, can't remember what they are called, but she would probably benefit A LOT from taking a daily multivitamin, or eating at least one full meal a day, that would actually help her if she ate a few hours before working out, so say like, a big salad for lunch or something, I'm sure she would start sleeping better.

Does she have insurance? If so have her go to her Dr and ask what is wrong he may have to put her on a pill for depression As it sounds like that is what is going on with her But I am no dr But it can be that or it could be that her guy problem is because of the weight and she is just obsessed with losing to please him But I can tell you it dont work Just eating the right foods and exercise is the Key....Good LUCK

You are a nice friend to her. It may well be that she can't sleep because she isn't eating. Maybe instead of a personal trainer, she needs a big hug and being invited to talk about how she feels.

it seems to me that the problem is in eating the same kind of artificial foods (power bars & fruit snacks) , i think she should eat at least one fully natural low-calorie meal full of vitamins , protiens and some carbohydrates . remember sir, NATURAL MEAL !! ( best wishes).

Leave her alone. I think you should let her lose weight. She is not starving herself. Stress is the problem with her not eating well not poor nutrition.

If you really care about her, why are you letting her do this to herself, lots of people die from this, tell her this, and say "if you want me to be your friend, your going to have to stop, and start eating,"
