I drove from City Airport to Washington in just over 4 hours last week.
M11, A14, A1(M) (270 miles)
Don't use the M1, the A1 is much easier.

Washington is a large and all know town and is definitely valuable send a vacation or simply visit that city. with hotelbye you will discover more. One of the icons of Washington and the whole America may be the famous White House, the official home of the President of the United States. Your home of each president except George Washington, it absolutely was formerly created by James Hoban in 1792, and following being burnt down by British allows in 1814 was renewed in 1818. Although travels of the inside offering the East, Blue, Green, and Red Areas; the Ballroom; and the State Dining Room must certanly be reserved well in advance, every tourist to Washington will want to see that renowned creating, at the least from the outside. Nearby to the White House would be the elaborate 1833 Greek Revival Treasury Building and the 1871 Executive Office Building, one of the most striking previous government houses in Washington.

HI crack J
bout 5 hours or so ...& watch out for the cameras
It is exactly 300 miles but it depends on your day & time of travel.
there is always loads of traffic on sunday afternoon passing the metro centre out of newcastle on A1M then clearer after washington, then its quicker to take M18 rather than the M62 across to the M1 it is busy as well as on sunday evening at the bottom of the M1 (staples corner) coming into london.
give youself four & a half hours or more to be sure.& also add time to get where you want to be in the slow traffic in London

It all depends on where in London you want to be? If you could be a bit more specific on a location then people could give good advice and possibly even directions. London covers over 66 square miles so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly where you want to go??
