one month and chores with no allowance. They would then know how it feels to work and not have the money in the end.

that is serious. its more then stealing, that person has lied, decieved and violated their parents trust. and i sure the parents are so heart broken about it too. i am sure they feel dissapointed and maybe like a failure that they did something wrong. i hope this person realizes how bad it is what they did. as far as punishment, what would you say a good punishment it is for not only stealing the money but all the actions that went with it and the trust that has been violated and broken and the pain in the parents hearts? no punishment will make their feelings better and it won't undo what was done. not like accidentaly breaking something or saying a curse word. i would make this person really think about what they did and write about it to make them realize what they did, and untill then, no tv, or friends or any other distractions untill they come to the full realization. maybe get an hour here and there to take a break. i wish you well.

That would be very serious - that means their is no trust between the two and the child lied (was deceptive by stealing) I would not only "ground" the child, but he/she would have to pay back the money DOUBLE - by working, chores etc. A line of communication needs to be set up in the home, and clear rules on what is and is not acceptable. I would also have the child and parent talk to either a pastor, couselor at school or close teacher, someone who they would have accountability with, and talk about what they could have done instead of stealing. Deal with it now, while the issue is fresh and keep checking in with the child.

That is beyond grounding. They would be grounded until for quite some time (full loss of any privileges); maybe a month and get afew swats on the butt. That is a pretty serious infraction. I did it when I was 12 or 13 and was grounded for about 2 months. Wasn't spanked but probably deserved to be.

since you can't spell stole, I am assuming you are the kid. If this has happened before then I would punish for a longer period of time than when it happened only once. I don't really believe that grounding is the answer. Make them put up a sign in the front yard saying they stole from their mom. No you better just make them work and pay it back, you may go to jail for child abuse if you put up the sign. lol

I would ground him or her for about a day because you can get the money back from him. If you can catch him doing it then you don't need to ground him for that long. If he steals from someone else then there needs to be some heavy duty grouding, but from you I think a day will do.

That's good for at least a month, or until the kid got the message that stealing someone else's stuff ain't right.
Just grounding ain't enough. The kid needs to be "trained".

i am a little bit old school the way i was raised was i would have gotten my butt kicked and then would have had to do some kind of punishment like washing dishes in my moms restaurant all weekend and the money i made went to replace the money i stole. anything else i made my mom donated to the womans shelter. i only stole once and after that i learned my lesson.

a couple of weeks should do but not grounding them to their room. they need to do things around the house to keep them busy. some kids don't mind being stuck in their room so in this case you need another form of discipline. i would have a serious talk with them too. if this is not corrected them it is going to get worse possibly leading to stealing from stores and other people. hope this helps. good luck.

If that was my kid, he or she would get a spanking
and be grounded for 2 weeks.
