Is going through a dark night of the soul uncommon for someone who is 16 years old?

It is difficult to discern if we are going thru this as some other mental conditions can be similar to this,there is also what is called the dark night of the senses and it takes a sound spiritual director to confirm these,St.Teresa of Avila experienced this condition,so you could do a search on her.

when i was 16 pretty much every night was a dark night.
