Leaving the lid on, cooks vegetables faster, saving energy, and keeping the nutrients in the vegetables and not rising in the air.

put the lid since it will make more pressure inside the pan and the time of cooking will decrease

It depends. If you want to steam them then keep a lid on. If you want to sautee them in oil, water, or stock so they're still crisp, then you don't need a lid. P.S. the only thing I boil is potatoes though I prefer to roast them in a 425 degree oven. Roast yams/sweet potatoes this way and get ready for a treat.

You're wasting energy taking off the lid. Just leave it on.

keep the lids on... that way the vegetables get softer and easier to eat...
