When my daughter was an infant, we had to use Premixed Soy formula to calm her tummy, we also did this her second year of life with the soy next step formula and Lactose free milk (cant remember what it was called) Now she is 8 and has a weight problem. Could it be becasue she drinks milk? We use 1% milk. We have never done allergy testing on her, we have done Thyroid tests and her's is normal. I'm not sure if the Dr has done a diabeties test yet. But I was wondering about the milk. Has anyone else experienced this? what did you do? any suggestions on a milk substitute? (She uses in in cereal and drinks it)
Thanks

My daughter is a VERY active little girl, she is always running, jumping rope, bouncing around...she does lot's of physical stuff.

She has no "normal" allergic reations, no rashes or tummy aches, no constipation (although it takes her 30 minutes to have a bowel movement sometimes)

She doesnt eat a lot of fast foods, although she does eat the school lunches, she chooses water as her drink most of the time.

if you think it is milk cut back on how much she drinks and make sure it is skim milk when she has it. If she eats fast food STOP and eat some healthy foods like carrots lettuce cabbage fruit nuts etc.make sure she gets at least 30 min to 1 hour exercise a day.

Most of the U.S drinks milk. She needs the milk. The thing is she might need more physical activities then what she is getting now. She may not be getting enough to burn the calories she is taking in. Or she could be eating to much, talk to your dr. about how much she should eat and how much exercise she should get. But if you don't want to have her have a life time of weight problems, don't tell her she is on a special eating plan because of weight, and make exercising fun and make games out of it. Join her in races, get her into sports or swimming, etc.

Does she get sick from the milk she drinks? or break out in a rash? If not it doesnt sound like an allergy.
