My dogs don't need other dogs, I have seven. They play with each other. I really don't like strange dogs around mine. I don't do dog parks or doggie day care anything like that. My boyfriends mother comes over with her dog (one of my pups) to play each Saturday. You can never be sure others have their dogs UTD with shots and worming. If my dogs get something it is very expensive to treat seven dogs.

Hi Roxy!!
A Dog Park, can be wonderful places for your dog to get physical and mental exercise.
While adult dogs don’t need as much free play with other dogs as you might think, a little here and there is a great idea and exercise is essential. Unfortunately, your dog can also pick up bad habits at the dog park, like fear, aggression, rough play, and ignoring you. Some professional dog trainers refer to dog parks as "a guarantee of future employment," because so many behavioral problems start at the park.

You definitely should NOT let your dog play with every dog it encounters. If it is an unfamiliar dog, or is acting vicious or scared, there's always the chance of a fight and the risk of spreading diseases.

Yes, I'll let my rottweiler play with the little chihuahua who is baring its teeth at my dog and trying to bite it. That sounds like a fantastic idea.
