The normal tax deadline is April 15th. However, April 15th falls on a Sunday this year, so it's extended a day until the 16th. However, the IRS just announced an additional one day extension until April 17th due to new holiday in the District of Columbia that falls on the 16th.

You can apply for an automatic extension of time to file your return but that does not extend the deadline to pay any tax due. That must be paid by April 17, 2007.

For a personal return, the due date for Form 1040 is 4/15/07. If you file an extension, the tax return is due 10/15/07. If you file an extension, though, the income tax must be fully paid in by 4/15/07.
