The allergenic component of dust is actually the fecal pellets and other waste matter from dust mites, microscopic relatives of spiders and ticks. Dust mite allergen contains an enzyme to which about 80% of allergy sufferers are sensitive. You can never completely get rid of dust mites, but you can greatly reduce their population in your home and discover allergy relief through environmental control measures.

Allergy relief bedding is the most effective solution to dust mite allergy. (It's important to focus on your bedroom since you spend approximately a third of your life there.) "Dust mite encasings" or "allergy relief mattress and pillow covers" zip around your mattress and pillows and form an impermeable barrier. The dust mites that are currently living in your mattress (and there could be millions of them) will die since the barrier cuts them off from their source of food (primarily your dead skin). The barrier also keeps all the dust mite allergen sealed inside so that you don't inhale it.

Well, for any kind of allergies, it's basically an abnormal reaction to common substances. So if you want to get rid of an allergy permanently, the only way to do it is to heighten your body's immune system to be able to tolerate the allergens, in this case dust.
I've found that if I eat healthy, exercise, and have enough rest, I have less reactions to allergies. Taking extra vitamins (C in particular) can also boost your immune system.

The first thing you need to do is clean your house or apartment throughly with non toxic cleaners. Use a good air purifier and be sure to shampoo your carpets regularly. Shampoo your furniture too with a non toxic furniture cleaner. Be sure you are getting allergy shots to help control your allergy and if you allergy is severe hire someone to come in to clean for you once a week while you are out of the house.
