At the root of all hatred is fear. A lot of Christians (I'm not trying to make a grand statement here as I am Christian and I know many who are very open and accepting) need to separate their morals into black and white, right and wrong. So if they mess up in some areas at least they can buy God's love back by doing something from the "right" list. This use of concrete moral law is hypocrisy and just makes people who live by it miserable and guilty all the time.
I'm kind of leery about what a "true" Christian is like. For me, to love and accept, be kind to others, share and help others in need are all good solid Christian traits.
Keeping your nose out of people's business when it comes to their sex lives is too!

(d) I think all Christians should hate any sexaul sin because God hates it. The difference is that we can't hate the sinner like God does. When the Lord visited Sodom and Gommorah for their sins of homsexuality, He would have spared the city had there been 5 righteous people in it - didn't happen. Lot had to flee in order to avoid being burned up with all the homosexuals. Jesus also tells us that homosexuality will be as rampant in the world as it was during those days just before He returns the second time, i.e., they will take over the world with their practices. Paul tells us not to be deceived - all those who practice homosexuality will not enter into the kingdom of God.
I don't know if this elaboration was what you were looking for.

Read Romans 1: 24-27, also Jude 7 Then 1 Timothy 1: 9-11 compare it with Leviticus 20: 13.
What should be the attitude of Christians toward thos who have a history of homosexuality? 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11
True Christians know that even deeply rooted wrong desires, including those that may have a genetic basis or that involve physical causes or environmental factors, are not insurmountable for persons who truly want to please God. Some people by nature highly emotional. Perhaps in the past they gave free reigh to fits of anger; but knowledge of God's will, the desire to please Him, and the help of His spirit enable them to develop self-control. A person may be an alcoholic, but, with proper motivation, he can refrain from drinking, and thus avoid becomeing a drunkard. Likewise, a person may feel strongly attracted to others of the same sex, but by heeding the counsel of God's word he can remain clean from homosexual practices, see Ephesians 4: 17-24. God does not allow us to go on thinking that wrong conduct really makes no difference; he kindly but firmly warns us of the consequences and provides abundant help for those who want to "strip off the old personality with its practices, and clothe [themselves] with the new personality." According to knowledge Colosians 3: 9,10

I am Christian, but I don't hate homosexuals. I have homosexual friends, and I know we are different. Jesus taught us Christians to hate sin, not sinners. I am sure you can distinguish sin and sinners. Homosexuals are sinners, just like me. I am a sinner too.there are many evidences in the Bible saying that homosexuality is a sin, that it is something that God doesn't like. In the first book of Bible,Genesis God said to Adam and Eve to have children. the same thing is true for Abraham. Other example or evidence is Sodom and Gomorah that were destroyed.

This sort of inflammatory speech really must stop. Christians do not hate homosexuals. Christians revere the bible as God's word. It is not only the old testament that speaks of homosexuality as being a sin.
Christians sin too, just as another person pointed out. But as a Christian, I desire to do what God asks of me, and when I fail, it upsets me. I don't want to get up in the morning and make it my purpose to go out and do what God says not to do.
Please stop equating believing the bible...which teaches this sort of sexual behavior is a sin....with hate. It is not.

The bible says that we war against powers and spiritual wickedness in high places, not against flesh and blood. So it's not the person, but the sin that is within. Yes, none is without sin except Jesus. But, it appears this is something that is out of control and we who don't believe in homosexuality must take a stand against it. Every homosexual I know has had a traumatic experience....
(a) as an adult with the opposite sex
(b) as a child who has been molested
(c) as growing up seen their parent(s) having difficulties
(d) all the above.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm a born again christian and I do not hate homosexuals. They're sinning just like me. I sin everyday too. A christian claiming to be one that states he/she hates homosexuals needs to be questioned.

d) other - no believer in christ hates people that are homosexual not the person but the lifestyle they choose because it is unnatural and is not what God had intended for man. The word of God mentions in Romans 1: 24-28 that it is a vile affection and is dishonourable to God. as a believer i just hope that people turn from that way of life and turn to the truth in christ, they can live the way they want and i may not be able to change that but i do disagree with that way because the word of god says it is not right.

I am a christian and I do not hate homosexuals. I may not agree with your lifestyle, but I do not hate you. I also do not agree with lifestyles of most politicians or movie stars either, doesn't mean I hate them. "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". I am certainly not without sin, so who am I to judge whose lifestyle is right or wrong. Its just not right for me, but as a mother I would hope that God would teach me tolerance should one of my children choose a lifestyle that I do not agree with. Jesus loves you just as much as he loves me so therefore how can I judge anyone based on choices they may or may not have any control over. I would certainly not want the same fate for me or my children. God bless I hope this helps.
