Home cooked. Last night was pork chops in gravy, buttered new potatoes, fresh green beans with lemon sauce. I'm thinking broiled parmesan fish tonight. As a kid growing up, we didn;t have much money. My mom was a wizard in the kitchen. She could take very cheap cuts of meat and turn it into a mouthwatering meal. I learned a lot from watching her. I really didn't have fast food until I left home for college.

BACCALA BOLLITO DI AGLIO, OLIO

2 pounds dried salt cod, soaked in cold water for 24 hours
After soaking 24 hours, at room temperature, the cod should be soft. Drain and rinse. Place the fish into a large saucepan of cold water and bring it to a simmer. Let simmer for 10 minutes. Watch the time here...any longer and the fish will become tough. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool to tepid (don't refrigerate during this process).
4 garlic cloves, crushed
cup plus 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
6 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
cup plus 1 Tbsp olive oil
 tsp. hot red pepper flakes
salt to taste
parsley sprigs for garnish

Mix together the garlic, parsley, and lemon juice. Using a wisk, beat as you add the oil to the garlic mixture...do so very slowly. Last, add the pepper flakes and the salt to taste. To serve, peel the cod and cut it into pieces. Arrange it on a platter and garnish with parsley. Serve the sauce in a sauceboat.

i try to stay away from fast food as much as possible, because it is really un healthy for you. so i would rather have a nice home cooked meal. i like to cook beef stroganoff alot. because thats mainly the thing i am best at cooking. and when i do go out to eat, i would rather go to somewhere like burger king, because i love their spicy tendercrisp sandwhiches.

Always homecooked meals. My favorites are Gulf Shrimp, or tenderloin steak on the grill with sauted mushrooms...Yummy, you can't get good food like that from McDonalds!
