On small planes, I've had to be weighed. Granted it was only 6 of us on the plane but it was not something I enjoyed. I ended up being put in the co-pilot seat because I was the smallest.

The larger airlines don't really need to do that because their planes are created to handle larger loads.

They only weigh luggage. And think about it if they weighed people then fat ppl couldn't fly- not even when they desperatelty need to see their sick mother or father or some ermergancy like that. Basically most of the people in the world wouldnt be obese then because they want to fly and start going on diets.

Usually they estimate. It wastes time to weigh 100's of people, and it can trigger law suits and invade in people's privacy. Can you imagine the time wasted weighing all the passengers on a 747 bound for Tokyo?

they should.....but they dont........each person weighs the same on paper when they calculate weight and balance so it becomes an average.....small childnrenn are sometimes counted as half weights depends on the size of the airplane and the load
