Why do so many parents -- not all, of course, but a high proportion -- have so much trouble admitting their children might commit anti-social acts and crimes?
What factors compel these parents to claim that crimes, vandalism, etc., are inevitably the fault of others and never, ever the fault of their own children -- even when evidence exists?
Are YOU one of these poor parents?

Sometimes, parents find it hard to believe their little baby can grow up to commit deviant behavior because, quite possibly, they mind at home-it's just out without the parent do they turn into little devils.
I am not one of THOSE parents. I know exactly what kind of behavior these kids can exhibit and they get punished (lose allowance, video games, going to rec. center to hang out) for anything that crosses the boundaries we have set. I always remind theb oys when they are out that there are people always watching their actions and Dad and I will be told if they do not behave correctly.
There are too many kids that have parents that over look blatant disrespect for others and their property.

It is not because they don't beleinve it is because the are scare to admit that their litle darling can be a monster and then it become worst because they realized that they have borned that monster, jerk or whatever
I in the other hand want my children to be responsible you did something you answer for it not me
I have never hide their faults from people, when my son at 17 was giving dring by my step daugther and he drinks the beer I was angry at both him for taking my husband blame her but it was my son that was at fault because he sould have taking from
anyone
he answer was I want to try well today is beer tomorow is drug so it is the worst mistake a parent can make when you do not let your child take responsibility for their action
if you want them to take credit for the Good they must do for the bad as well

I think that its hard to think bad things about your children not matter what. Also I think that in some way a parent admitting that there child is poorly behaved is also admitting that they are a bad parent (which may or may not be) and no one wants to think they are a bad parent

I don't have children but I have an answer.I guess because they do not want to make a bad impression and if their kids are under 18 sometimes the parents might be blamed for their kids' actions.

I think they are embarrassed, and know that it reflects somewhat on their parenting. I do not have children nor do I want any. I think the bad seed, is never just randomly the bad seed, there was something that lent to his behavior. Parents being extra lenient with him/her because he was the youngest, or the most fragile, and etc. They do not want to see their faults in the result of their child behavior.

Ill tell you the exact reason why....
...because they are too lazy or tired to truely deal with the problem.
People want to have all these kids, but dont want to put in 100% to teach them right from wrong, or sticking to their guns when it comes to discipline.
you have to remember most people dont consider others, and so they dont care how their actions affect others. These parents certainly dont think about how their kids affect others. They dont care!!!
Its similar to people who buy dogs, but dont put 100% into them, like training them, not to bark all the time, or to smell crotches. They also get too busy and cant really show the dog as much attention as they need, and leave him outside in the cold to bark, etc.
People should stop having kids if they cant put in the full 100% it takes to raise them to be productive and kind members of society! Infact they should stop buying pets too if they cant put in full 100%

People want to bielive there family wouldn't do that sort of thing. Or that its just a phase there going thru. When told or confronted about it they become defensive as opposed to trying to deal with it. Another reason is kids lie, and the parents want to bielive them. Its easier than comming to terms with the fact there kids are doing something bad.

Unfortunately, most parents are in denial when it comes to a child's true behavior. Their maternal/paternal love for their children blinds them from seeing their potential for criminal behavior. Also, in some cases, though by no means all, admitting that their child is a criminal would hurt the parents' pride. They would feel like they failed in their job as parents.

In my oppinion. If the children are behaving badly then it was bad parenting. There for the parents deny it because they just don't care. Period. Simple fact

Because this country has become one of blame everything on everyone else no one is bad they are sick or emotionally challenged or some other junk people need to stand up and take responsibility and they need to make their kids do the same.
