I had 36 breaks in my upper and lower jaw, and I'm still alive, singing, talking and getting along just fine....so, I don't think it can outright kill you if you get the proper treatment.

i know someone who had been in a very serious accident years ago. Because of the accident he is losing bone mass in his jaw and eventually won't be able to chew and eventually will impair his speech. There is an operation that might possibly correct this for him but his doctor ( who is a specialist ) refuses to do the operation because it is such a sensitive area that one wrong move ( literally ) could cause death. This is very true so the answer to your question would be yes ... you could die from a jaw injury.

No. I saw this video on youtube and this guy rammed his jaw into this tunnel thing (he was on a bike) and he lost a tooth, it was bleeding everywhere, and he was still alive even though he broke his jaw.

well I don't think you could die from the break but you could from the after effects such as a blood clot can form or infection set in

Perhaps if the break is accompanied by internal bleeding or leads to infection, or from nervous trauma.

I don't think so unless the breakage allows some sort of infection to get to the brain.
