Some vets believe its because the esophagus hasn't matured and closed all the way. Some of the stomach gases are released through the mouth. Also, because their diet is of the mothers milk and not dog food it has a milder more pleasant smell.

its because puppies don't open their mouth that much. When they drink the mother's milk they just hold it there and the mouth has very little time to air out the smell so it just stays there day after day after day. For example when you sleep for a long time and don't open your mouth all night it smells terrible in the morning. Its the same for puppies but even worse becuase its every day. You can't give them anything to chew on becuase they are too small so just wait till they grow. I'd risne their mouth out with water if it bothers you so much

Don't know, but i think it has to do with their digestive system not being fully developed, so just like humans that eat smelly stuff, it can come up in their breath.

Maybe because they don't have enough bacteria in their mouths, to cause bad breath.
