In a Democratic country, citizens have the right to form party. There are more that 750 parties in India but only a handful of parties are serious contenders and effective in wining election. Indian is a secular country. Most of the parties are formed for promoting the interests of a community eg Muslim league, RSS, BSP, BJP etc. These political parties helps in the development of tha community as well as it will help in promoting the interests of a community. This is one of the greatest merit of the Indian democracy. It has a advantage too, people of minority community will not feel isolated. Political parties are mainly classified into three categories. 1.NATIONAL PARTY. Are those part which secures 6% of total votes in Loksabha elections or assembly elections in four states and wins atleast four seats in Loksabha. 2.STATE PARTY. Are the party of state which secures 6% of total votes in state assembly elections and wins atleast two seats in legislative assembly. 3.RECOGNISED PARTY. Are those parties which is registered with election commisssion. There is no permanent list recognised party, it is revised after every general elections. Symbols are issued to each party and only official candidates can use it. Suppose there is 2 or 3 parties in India, who will repersent the interests of the people, there will not be serious competation among parties.

Hey!

Just think about this:
- Why does India has a maximum number of languages?
- Why do we have a maximum number of scripts?
- Why do we have the most number of festivals?

As somebody said: "Kos kos par badle paani, paanch kos par baani."

Indians are very creative, innovative and are inherently entrepreneurial. That is the basic reason of the diversity we exhibit, be that in any field.
