Christ is the Greek version of the word Messiah, and it is a completely Jewish term. Jesus was raised in a Jewish family. His Apostles were Jewish and the "Christian" faith didn't reach the gentiles until after His death. In fact, during Jesus's lifetime, it wasn't even called Christianity and no one was called Christian.

Jesus's name is Jewish. It is originally something like Yeshua or Yahoshua. Jesus is the Latin version of the Greek version of His name.

Only ignorant people do not realize that He was Jewish. It has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. It is a fact.

You are sooo funny! There were no Christians until after the death of Jesus. He grew up in a Jewish nation to Jewish parents, surrounded by Jewish neighbors, practicing Jewish traditions, preaching to Jews, and choosing Jewish disciples. Wow! You must be right he couldn't have been a Jew!

"Christ" is a title -- not a name! Christ is Greek for "anointed".....in Hebrew it is "Messiah".

We are called Christians because we are followers of the Christ....the Anointed One. Christians were first called thus in Antioch (Acts 11:26) and it was actually an insult -- like the term Moonies.

Prior to being called Christians we were known as The Way (Acts 9:2; 19:9; 19:23; 22:4; 24:14) and prior to that, Nazarenes (Acts 24:5).

If Jesus had a last name it would have been bar Yosef....sons were named with the first name of their father as their last name as in Yeshua bar Yosef -- Jesus son of Joseph. That was his earthly name. In reality it is Jesus Son of God the Most High.

Jesus was, indeed, born lived and died as a devout Jew.

Jesus Christ WAS Jewish. He was a Jewish Prophet. And the word "Christian" wasn't even around in the times of Christ. He made the Christian religion just like Buddha pretty much made Buddhism.

Uh, what does that have to do with politics?

All Christians say and have said that Jesus was Jewish. No Jew even contests that.

Since , according to Jewish law, one's mother has to be Jewish in order to be considered Jewish, Jesus, whose mother was Jewish, was a Jew who started (or his students started) their own religion.

Let me see now, was Jesus Jewish? His momma was Jewish, Joseph was Jewish. He was circumcised (ouch). He followed all the Jewish customs and prayers. All of his disciples were Jewish. Oy vey! Looks like a good little Jewish boy to me.

By the way Christ was not his last name, it was his title.

Jesus was born a Jew and died a Jew. He was Jesus of Nazareth. After his death, his followers added "Christ" to his name.
Jesus taught in the Temples and Synagogues. He followed Jewish/Mosaic Law.

It's not just the liberals who think this. Many, many people of other faiths know this, too.

Study the genealogy of Jesus. Go back into the Old Testament. His parents followed all the Jewish rituals. Jesus, turned to the Gentiles when His own rejected Him.
