To be honest mostly everyone is scared because pain is related to dentist. Well, any way it did years ago. Dentistry has come along now. $$$$ is now somethig to be scared of, the cost is so high. Some people admit to being scared, some don't and then there are those who aren't.

I am scared to death of the dentist. To the point that I walk into the office and start crying. The dentist would try to do work and because of my anxiety would not be able to do the work, so they actually prescribed me an anxiety medication to take prior to my appointment---it works wonders.

Used to be, then I found a fantastic dentist, always takes time to ensure you don't feel any pain and has improved my teeth greatly. Go and find a good one, stick with them. Everyone should go at least twice a year, and visit the hygenist evry other month if you can.

Me. Partly because he used to work for the Spanish Inquisition and partly because I am unsure whether my bank balance will stand his bill. Without a word of a lie, recently he spent the few minutes waiting for my injection to 'take' by phoning the BMW garage to order a new part for his football pitch sized sports car. I have paid for half of it recently, without him rubbing my face in it, as it were. Trouble is, my nervousness ('watch this one nurse, he fell down the stairs last time' (Yes really)) means that he does the minimum preventative to me, meaning more nasty work in the future - presumably he is working on the principle that I will have paid for his ocean going yacht by then so he wont have to see me any more.

Nearly everyone is. The pain caused by the dentist and his minions can be excruciating. Though it is not caused on purpose. Therefore. only a masochist likes to see the dentist.

I am absolutely terrified. I kid myself I've got neuralgia instead of toothache, it's easier to bear. I have to have a general anaesthetic to have a tooth removed and NO WAY will I ever have a filling again.
