PAKI is an insult for asians. as was recently used in TV serial "big brother". My question is why "PAKI" why not "Indian" or "asian"?

I was at a birthday party recently and, at the same venue, there were over 200 Pakistanis celebrating a wedding. When I asked how they described the various parts of the ceremony, a young lady said, "just call it a Paki wedding" Not racist, nothing nasty, just factual.

And it's used by Pakistanis to refer to themselves, eg PAKI POWER on flags at cricket matches, not just by British racists.

From "Pakistani", which in return is derived from the Urdu words for "pure country".
