I calculated the amount of water needed to flood the earth completely (assuming that Mt. Everest's peak was about 800 feet lower than it is today). Then I subtracted out the amount of water frozen in the polar icecaps and greenland. There is still 3.91e9 km^3 of water missing.

That's a cube of water 900 miles high, wide and long.

Where is all that water?

Did you add for the underground Water Tables that supply your drinking water?

Yep, that's a lot of water. The Bible gives a very detailed account of what happened, including when and for how long. Try looking it up in Genesis, chapters 7 and 8. If you don't have a Bible, you can read it online at http://www.backtothebible.org/devotions/bible_guides.htm . Sound pretty unbelievable? Isn't that the definition of a religion and divinity? Isn't that why we have faith? Still, there is a great deal of evidence surrounding the account of the flood, if you do your research. And if you're interested, I'm sure you will.

if you accept that the world was created then the Creator could create water and then send it away or uncreate it, right? if not, then you won't accept the story at all

I saw a show about this on discovery channel or something and they said all the cultures have flood stories so its possible that they all came from a world wide flood or maybe just got pass along from one big flood in one area where everyone lived and as people went from place to place they took the flood story with them

I cant think that the whole world really was flooded, but some people say Noah's ark was found in Turkey. if that's true, then at least part of that story is true too, right?

The Bible mentions the "fountains of the deep" being broken up and adding to the flood waters. Most likely it went back into the earth. The latest theory is that this breaking up was so violent it was like an explosion which literally blew tons of water off the face of the earth. It seems that the asteroids with traces of life frozen in their core, some headed in this direction, are just chunks of our own planet coming home.

"...the valleys sank down, and the mountains rose up..." and, " the fountains of the deep broke open..." -that may help you a little.
No one knows what the pre-flood geography was like. We do know that there are skeletal remains of marine life on top of most every mountain today, except relatively recent volcanic upheavals. When you fly all over this earth and see just how big the oceans are, you are only looking at the top. There are some seriously deep canyons under the sea. There is also lost of water under the crust of the earth.
I don't think you have taken a serious look at this at all.

Very interesting, but useless to christians. No matter what irrefutable evidence you show them, they'll just say "oh but god can do it all, he's the almighty... he can create that water from thin air and then disappear it, the bible says it, take a look".

Where the water came from is just one flaw of the Noah's Ark fairy tale... all of it is completely absurd.

Maths says his answer is correct. How dumb can some people be???

And even if his calculations are out even by a factor of ten you only have to think for a micro-second to see the problem.

First you have to ask yourself what is rain?
How is rain formed?
Where did that rain come from?
Then you can do your equation in reverse!
:)
Edit: to the "IGNORAMOUS" that gave me a thumb down:
the rain had to come from somewhere ON earth before it evaporated, became clouds and returned where it came from as rain!

It evaporated into heaven......

Just like all the dinosaurs that flew and swam, they all somehow got killed within a very small amount of time,

and yes, we were running from not only lions and mammoths, but also carnivorous dinosaurs. God must have blessed us with super human powers to get away.

Sometimes I think it can be found in my bladder. Excuse me. I'll be back in a moment. Watch out when I flush.
